SSD/Flash Storage Secure Erase
There is no standard SSD secure erase so either buy an SSD/Flash Storage device that implements hardware encryption or make sure you encrypt the SSD/Flash Storage device before you use it for personal data/applications i.e.- Apple's FileVault for startup disks
- Format additional storage devices with Disk Utility storage device encryption
- Encrypt additional storage devices already in use with macOS encryption
Destroying Storage Devices
If you do not believe securely erasing and recycling your storage device is good enough you may want to consider physically destroying it:- America's National Security Agency (NSA) Media Destruction Guidance
